After breakfast we decided to chill for a couple more hours before heading out for the day. We were both still feeling extremely beat! We got up and moving around 11 and were out and about by noon!
Of course after our busy morning we were ready for lunch so we headed off to find this place called Royal Saigon. The food here was really good and the family that owned it was super sweet!
After lunch we jumped in a cab and headed to the war museum. What an interesting place.
We spent a good 3-4 hours there just reading every piece of information we could. So intense.
We got a cab at the museum to go back to hostel. On the way there it cost us 40,000 dong and there was a decent amount of traffic and what not. Within minutes of being in this cab we noticed that the meter was jumping So fast. We started paying attention to it and realized that we hadn't even been driving for 5 minutes and it was already up to 55,000! We decided we just get out and walk but had to wait for the driver to turn and go through the light. Before he turned the meter said 62,000 and by the time he stopped (right after he turned) it was up to 95,000! In a matter of 30 seconds!!! We were so annoyed...he tried to tell us it's because of traffic jam but he wasn't realizing that we saw how fast it jumped in such a short time. We handed him 50,000 and got out. He wasn't happy but either were we.
On the walk back we got talked into massages. We both had been wanting/needing them since our trek so it worked out. They definitely weren't as good as our weekly Thai massages but they did the trick!
By the time we were finished we were ready for a drink and some dinner! We walked forever before finally deciding on a spot where we grabbed some Vietnamese food and beer!
Our hostel has a daily happy hour from 6-9 so we decided to head back and have a few drinks there. Lucky for us, we walked in to find out it was ladies night and we got a free drink! :) we sat and enjoyed our drink and then headed up for showers! We were pretty oily from the massages!
Excited for day 2 in Vietnam!
