Mom's Visit to Thailand!!

I still can't believe that my MOM got to come to THAILAND to visit!!

My mom flew in to Bangkok late Tuesday night so we stayed there Tuesday and Wednesday night. We didn't too anything too exciting in Bangkok...just walked around, ate delicious Mexican food, got massages, and slept in!

Ice Skating Rink in Central World Mall

Maybe a few too many margaritas!??? (she's going to kill me when she sees these!)

We left Bangkok on Thursday to head to Saraburi. We spent two shorts days in Saraburi and did nothing crazy! I showed her around my town, took her to my favorite restaurant, and did some crafting!

Notice the little puppy on the floorboard...

My mom and I were invited to go out of town with one of my students and her family!
They picked us up Saturday morning at 5am to start our trip!

We went to Kanchanaburi and Suphanburi and did a lot of outdoorsy things...
site-seeing, swimming, hiking, waterfalls...OH and a ton of eating!!!
We had a lot of fun with them!

My student and her sister                                          The Bridge Over the River Kwai

  Floating Restaurant

On the way to our resort we made a quick pit stop at a waterfall!

The view from the resort we stayed at the first evening.

One of the beautiful Temples in Suphanburi.

Kao Tok (my student), Kao Tung, and their mother making an offering at the Temple

After the Temple we took a little boat across the river to see another Temple
that has been knocked down and destroyed during a battle many, many years ago.
Totally different scenery!

 Broken Bridge
The village people built this and after it collapsed they were unable to fix it...
They made a bamboo bridge instead that is on the water.

View of the bridge from our resort.

The bridge on the left is the broken bridge,
and the one on the right is the new bamboo bridge.

Pieces of the broken bridge.

Crossing the bridge

Sunday we woke up and headed to a National Park/Waterfall!
We had such a fun day hiking and playing in the waterfalls!
This waterfall has 7 different levels! We went all the way up to the 7th level.
The girls loved stopping at the different levels to swim and play!

In Thailand, it is completely normal to swim
in your clothes...actually, it is kind of expected.

Walking to our house for the second evening...
The house on the right is the one we stayed in!

Sunday we woke up and headed to another National Park!
We didn't have much time so we only walked to the first couple of levels of this waterfall!

My mom and I left Kanchanaburi Monday afternoon to head to Bangkok!
We were leaving Bangkok on an overnight bus at 9pm to head to Koh Tao.
The overnight bus took about 7 hours and then we took a 2 hour ferry to the island! :)

Found this AWESOME restaurant on the island that
served a CHEESE PLATE and WINE!
I was one happy camper!!

After dinner we went to a Lady Boy Cabaret Show.
It was definitely a trip! :)

The pool at our resort! Such a beautiful view!

We took a snorkeling trip on a long tail boat,
that stopped at many different AWESOME places!!
Pictures don't do justice!!

This is where we stopped for lunch! So beautiful!
We literally climbed a MILLION stairs to get to the restaurant!

Cute little restaurant that we ate at for dinner!
Neat little bean bag chairs!

A million pictures later (sorry!!), this sums up my moms amazing time here in Thailand!
We did so many things and had so much fun...but the time literally flew by!

I can't wait until she gets to come visit again!!!
